• What would you guys say about the manual tranny counter weight removal?

    TTT

I could use some help, lets say some killer speed bumps in my neighborhood, knocked it loose then a hard tight left turn after a sharp right caused my car to roll and pop it off

Any idea on the shipping to Orlando, FL, 32828.

The piece I am tlaking about is near the torque arm bushin and it also is part of the exhaust hanger near the CAT.

MY snd gear synchor is starting to go out on my tranny again, not sure I am up for a 3rd rebuild of it

i honestly dont know what type of shape its in. i paid 100$ for it cause the guy said it was in good shape, and he threw in a free 3.4L (it had a blown head gasket)

so all i really wanted was the motor, but he said if i wanted the motor i had to take the trans also.

jack, have you heard of www.fastlouis.com ? go sign up on our message board, we are a bunch of good guys (for the most part).

and if eric (mustang eater) dosent want it, and you want it soon, i will be in godfrey IL with the trans till thursday (im leaving thursday to go back to school at SIU)

                Sounds good.

Unfortunately I know all about fastlouis, and you are right, there are some good people there, unfortunatrely there are some not so good people there. I choose to stay away from people who have no class, no grace and care more about being jerks than productive members of society. There are a lot better clubs than fastlouis in the metro area. I have some very good friends who go there a lot, I do not judge them for that, we just have different interests, I show my car a lot and streetracing and heavy drinking aren't my thing, so mofba.net is more my style, plus we have actual gtg's almost every weekend, to each his own, but I do not look down on anyone who belongs there, we are all F-Body people.

jack i know what you mean about different styles.. i personally dont show my car at all , and i love racing.. but whatever i dont mind .net people, i was hangin out with a few of em a while back down at the SOCO hooters

if ya want the tranny , let me know ATL2001@siu.edu would be the best way to get to me , or on AIM : studlycamaro ive been having trouble getting on this site lately.. :( and we shouldnt junk up eric's thread

i'll be leaving for SIU on thursday, but will be back either the next weekend, or the one after that to pick up a new rearend for my car

Cool...I guess I had better start a new thread to see if the 3.4 tranny is the same as the 3.8. lol

if it is, consider it sold, I have cash in hand.

Umm, shipping for an automatic is about 150-300 depending if it is door to door, or shipping dock to shipping dock.

I know a manual is lighter, but for freight they do things based on density. If it is over 70 pounds, I believe it is, UPS doesn't handle it. Good luck.

I've removed the weight on the Torque arm, the weight off of the exhaust in the passenger rear. Not dead yet.

I removed my counter weight many moons ago without any problems.

If that tranny is for sale, I would like to have it.
