How can I find info on my rear end?

What do I need to look for to find out what rearend and/or gears I have on my 2000 Firebird 3.8? It's an automatic trans.

Look on the driver's door for the RPO codes. You probably have code GU6, 3.42 gears, although I guess it's possible you may have gotten 3.08's (GU4). A posi rear is indicated by the code G80, usually following the gear code. The posi rear is usually only found on either Y87 cars, or V8 cars.
