i have a question on changing the transmission fluid. is it hard to do this? this will be the first time i will be doing this. how much will it cost? Im asking this because i dont know how long its been since its last change and my transmission has been slipping lately. it only does it sometimes when i floor it when im going like 40 and it down shifts. what happens is it down shifts but it doesnt grab right away. the rpm's jump to red line then it grips. very weird. would low transmission fluid cause this? im going to change it anyways but I hope thats all thats wrong with it.
You just have to drop the transmisssion pan. It can be messy so put a wide pan under the car as you're taking the bolts out. Change the filter also. When you refill. Make sure you drive around and check again and add what's necessary.
Draining and refilling is adequate if you are not changing fluid types (Like Synthetic or something), but if you are it is best to flush away [img]smile.gif[/img] you would have to take it to a tranny shop to have it flushed though.
