  • Clutch Whine??

What would cause my clutch to whine when I press in the clutch pedal? It doesn't do it when the clutch is engaged only when disengaged.

It could be your throw out bearing starting to go out. mine made a whining noise when i disengaged the clutch and just finished up replaceing clutch disk, pressure plate, and throw out bearing and had 1/4 inch play side to side motion. and it olny made the whining noise ( not a squeakingnoise) when more pressure was applied to the throw out bear. ( pushing clutch and getting the increased pressure from pressure plate to the bearing)
