As some of you may know I was having difficulty starting from a stop in a smooth fashion. Recently I solved the problem by pressing the gas down just a bit before letting up the clutch. Not sure if I can describe it better.. But for me this provides a smooth launch. My question is will this damage anything or decrease the life of my clutch more than my usual messy starts?

On a side note. Anyone know how much I can expect to pay for an lsd install?

If you're revving at a higher rpm from a stop while letting the clutch out, yes, it'll wear it down a bit faster (of course...Higher revvs will wear it down significantly). It probably won't burn it completely out within a short amount of time, but it will decrease the life expectancy of the clutch.

Don't know about the gear install. I just replaced the whole rear with everything already intact for $150.00.

Thanks for the info. I'd say the revvs are no higher than what I use when trying to even off both clutch and gas. Somehow this just seemed easier. But if its that bad I will try to perfect the old way.

your problem with the starts is that you are letting the clutch out too fast.

WHen it starts to grab, you are just letting the clutch go.

          dont.

When you feel it start to grab, just hit the gas a little, then let the clutch out slowly.

it was REALLY frusturating for me, but after a few days i can go pretty smooth.

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...
