  • Is This Normal?

I went to race a friend of mine in my ThirdGen, I held the break down to the floor and floored the accelerator. The problem is that the rpm's would not exceed 2,000. I need 4,000 to get a good start don't I? Is there something wrong with the car preventing it from exceeding 2,000, or is this normal?

Torque converter locks up at 1800 to 2000 on the new stock cars. That's why ppl buys torque converters so they can get a higher stall and launch like a motha. My friend is getting a tc that is known as the hand of god and that freaks me out.
