The transmission on an automatic when you downshift going from high speeds in order to slow down?

I'm sure it's not 'good' for it, but is it ok to continually do?

Just like burn outs aren't good for your tires, but people continually do them

I'd wait for a shift kit and a high performance rebuild before making it a habit.

You are putting excess wear on the internal clutches doing it and it isn't good for the life of the trans no.

Try to only do it when you have to, like on a steep mountain grade where you risk brake failure.

Which is cheaper to replace... brake pads or the transmission? ;)
