  • Question for people with Transgo shift kit with vette servo

i installed my trango with vette servo and noticed quite a difference in performance, first gear lights the tires up pretty nice and the tires slip into second, but im wondering if you guys with the shift kit notice ur car runs at higher RPM then normal, i noticed it to stay closer to 2-2500 when drivin around..is this normal and also if im drivin normal 3rd gear is a slight delay in the shift

Isn't that the point of that mod? To have a sportier shift style? The only thing running at that RPM regularly is gonna do is eat more gas if you ask me. I'm thinking about a shift kit myself though and a tranny cooler, but first I gotta get some more ponies to the ground!

The transgo kit will hold each gear longer. On the one I have in the '72 Mustang, I've noticed that when the engine/tranny is cold, it has a tendency to hold first gear for up to 2-2500 rpm under light throttle. After it warms up, I can get third gear before 15 MPH.

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
