• Correcting the speedo in a 3.4 after gear swap

I'm considering putting a limited slip differntial and 3.42 or 3.73 gears in my '95 3.4 Camaro. I've heard that the guys who put in the limited slip and 3.42's in their 3.8's can just get a VIN number from a Y87, but how could a 3.4 make everything work correctly?

SLP sells a corrector, its a little computer that lugs inbetween the VSS and the gauge cluster. Its pretty expensive though.

So to reset the speedometer after putting on different gears, all I have to do is unhook the negative battery cable and wait for an hour or so? Then when i start the car again everything will be set correctly? Will this correct the odometer also? Thanks for the help.

If it were that easy I would have a set of 3.73s in there. The best thing to do is ask a dealer if he can do it. If they can't try the SLP thing. I know alot of people in here want to know if it will work and if it doesn't, I'm sure SLP will take it back.

Sorry bud, but its not that easy. I wish it were because I would have already done it. I'm gonna buy the SLP speed processor to correct it..$180 bucks though..probably $190 with shipping God it hurts. But I dont want my odometer to put more miles than it actually has.
