  • Trans Shift Kit

Hey guys. I was just wondering if anyone here has a shiftkit installed on their 4L60E.:stp: What would you recommend? There seems to be a few options out there. Some are internal on the trans while others Like the QuickShift from B&M are electronic.

Forget the B&M....that just ups line pressure.

Go with the HD2 kit from Transgo....put 2 spacers in and have fun.

Get the 093 (Corvette) servo and install that when you do the kit.
In fact, just installing that servo alone will improve shift feel remarkably.
With the Transgo kit, you will never get both the 1-2 shifts and the 2-3 shifts perfect without the 093 servo. Transgo has provisions in their kit and instructions for accommodating the stock servo, but in every case where I've tried that, I've been dissatisfied, and ended up replacing the servo with the 093 and making the corresponding adjustments in the valvebody per Transgo instructions.

I would forego putting any of the shim washers in the 1-2 accumulator unless running a higher than stock stall converter. When you do all the other parts of the kit correctly, shifts are very quick and firm, but not abusive, with zero washers. If you don't optimize the other settings, then yes, some folks prefer the additional jolt that adding washers can provide.
