    Will a 96 3.8 fit a 20003.8

    Re: 3.8

Will the 3800 from a 96 model year car fit in a 2000 model? Yes, but you'll need to take a few things off and transfer to the other motor. Also beware that the older cylinder head castings have a weakness in the casting and can crack between the valve guides.

You'll want to transfer over the intake manifold/throttle body and also you don't want those log manifolds, transfer the stock tubular manifolds over to the other engine as well.

You'll want to take care of the intake gasket set while you do this, that way you are ensured to not have any leaks after startup installing an older engine.

Is your current motor toast or what?

Yes pretty much I've found a great deal on a 96 3.8 engine for 150 with only 45'000 miles on it
