  • Can't find answer anywhere

I have an A4 98 Camaro v6. Do I need a half inch spacer for the Energy Suspension mount? I installed it awhile back and didn't use one. Just put a used engine in and noticed it vibrates idling in drive but is smooth while driving.

Also if I do need a spacer can I use a 1/2in thick piece of rubber between the mount and crossmember or does it have to be between the mount and trans?

A piece of rubber would pretty much counteract the whole reason of the energy suspension mount. I went to the hardware store and just grabbed a bunch of washers and stacked them.

Make sure you don't have any loose or broken bolts on your engine mounts.

The link is down and all the spacers are used on 5 spds and a few asked about auto with no response. Does the pinion angle make a vibration when not moving or only when driving?

If you have a driveshaft angle problem enough to cause a vibration, it will only occur when the car is moving.

doesn't matter if its about above or below mount.

I used some poly sway bar bushings, it was 12 dollars for pack of eight.

M5 or A4 doesn't matter. Will work the same.

so with no vibration when moving should I leave it alone?

I would jack it up and take a look.

Check your mount to see if its loose, maybe install a spacer.
