  • If I was to get a posi unit.......

Should I get a brand spanking new one or try to snag a good used one up?
Also what would be a good brand to get.
    Any thoughts on this link:

And I know some people are going to say get a 10 bolt with a posi or whatever, so in advance Im not going to get a new 10 bolt. Just want opinions on new vs old, brand vs brand.

I bought mine used off Ebay, pretty sure it was an Auburn. They can be rebuilt but mine was in good shape so I just put it in.

You'll have to make sure you have over 3.23 gears in your rear end if you buy that lsd, they require a series 3 carrier where if you have lower (numerically) gears than that you'll need to find a series 2 carrier.

You would be fine with a master kit. Honestly when I bought my auburn with 4.10's used off ebay I didnt even replace the bearings on it. I just got jegs install kit that had shims, bolts, teh marking stuff, and rtv

He is sending me Eaton PN# 19599-010
the 2nd time around. Wish I would of ordered the 1st time. And when it says: Mineral/Petroleum based gear oil. That is non-synthetic correct?
And I should be ok with the posi additive I already ordered correct?
                      Eaton Posi

What kind of oil should I use? Can I use synthetics? Do I need a friction additive/modifier?
Eaton Posi units perform best when using GL4 (or better) mineral/petroleum based gear oil. A four ounce bottle of friction additive/modifier is also necessary for optimum performance.
