Re: t-5 power rating
The M5's/ T-5's are world class Borg Warner 1996-99 or Tremec's 00'-02( I think thats right but the 3.8's had World Class T-5's, so they are rated 300 HP / 300TQ , I was running 290-300+ Wrhp with my PD running 8-11LBS of boost and during the cold months running more timing it blew 3rd gear one night to pieces, but mine lasted about 3 years plus , but once I did the 928 rebuild and other upgrades with a 2.6" pulley it just wore it down, but I did run many 125-150 shots of nitrous on my car after i got rid of the PD, it was a blast when it worked and nothing went wrong. LOL Ran the same size shots on the A4 when swaped also. But if your going to run more than 300 WRHP , just know its just a matter of time before it goes, esp. 3rd gear.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

so you were pushing 300 rwhp with a boosted 3.8 backed by a T-5? thats great. as long as itll last a year thats enough for me. although i would like to take it to the strip with some slicks but would that be too much?
why did you swap to an a4? I happen to have one as a backupLast edited by taylor.o1; 09-27-2010, 11:57 AM.

I also had a SPEC stage 3+ clutch with the ceramic disc, it held while the tranny didn't so I think there great clutch's, just make sure you use a GM TOB and piolet bushing. Much stronger than the palstic stufff from spec. I had a stroke on my left side which left my left side weak and unsteady, also have spascity(muscle spasams) like 10x what a a normal spasam would feel like. So in traffic I couldn't hold the clutch and after a certain point my leg would shake where I couldn't stop it anymore. But I like the A4, handles more HP /TQ like 400 HP/400 TQ and are easier to build up to handle more HP. Also with a Transgo shift kit, Vette servo and Hptuners this thing shifts harder and quicker than I ever could with a M5. When I add a torque convetor its just going to be even meaner. LOL You can't shift faster than a computer, which is true. Good luck.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake
