I have the same problem on my '00 Camaro that I did on my '99. The transmission works fine, shifts smooth, but after driving on the highway for about 15-30 minutes, I get off at my exit, when the light turns and I take off, the transmission shifts hard going into 2nd and 3rd and will continue doing so until I shut the car off and give it a rest for a few minutes.
I never investigated the problem with my '99 as I sold it a few weeks after the problem began. Is there a simple repair or anything that I should be concerned about?
Does this happen regardless of the amount youre pressing down on the gas?

you'll have to go to a transmission place to have it done. And yes while you are there I would do a servo and maybe a shift kit too ( i a transgo HD2 shift kit for sale)
Meh, you don't need to go to a shop to have it done. Can be done at home if you feel like it. **** I did mine when I was ~17. Just search the P1870 code like previously mentioned and you'll find a ton of info.
Went ahead and moved my starter wire from the back, to the front again since it had no effect on my drain on the battery. Also made me nervous driving...
