PI and TCI sell converters for our cars. Or you can get your stocker reworked to stall higher as well.

An OEM 4x4 S-10 torque converter will drop right in and stall upwards of 3200 rpms. You can find a new or reman between $80-130. Check this thread for more info.

I can give you the phone # to the place that makes 9.5 " stalls for our cars that start at $230 and with upgrades $290 without shipping 1 year warranty , plus you can pick you STR which is great. Also depends if you are staying N/A or going FI. S-10 2.2 4 cyl. will work but you don't know how much HP it will take this place that makes them in their own machine shop so thy keep the cost down on them, they say they use same parts as TCI and Yank, they will ask how much HP , like mine I told them maybe 550 HP and they go by that , but their all 9.5" billet converters which you'll save 10-15LBS over a 12" converter also, less rotating mass, I was going to go with a S-10 before I found this place. A 3000 stall you can get a 2.0 STR and 3200 you can get a 2.2 STR , 3500 ,2.5 STR , PM me and I will give you their phone #.

Just switch gears to 4.10's or I can give you the # for the shop here to make you a stall.

4.10's doesnt give you an str of over 2.0...neither does the stock s10 stall I dont think...you would have to look into those numbers...str is really the main reason why you buy a stall...

Correct. The S-10 stall is good for those that want the OEM characteristics with a higher stall, at the cost of a little extra slipping. For someone wanting a performance stall, aftermarket is the way to go.

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...
