  • what kind of rearend do I have

ok, I admit, I don't know anything about v6 rearends. I did a search and look through the stickies but didn't find what I was looking for.

Is a 93 3.4L rearend a 10 bolt rearend? Someone mentioned it might be a 7.62 rearend, which I've never heard of before. Does anyone know, or have a link that can point me in the right direction? I think these also have a 3.23 final gear ratio, correct?

Sorry for all the questions, it'd just be nice to know what I had. Car is a 93 3.4L Camaro. Thanks guys!

yes, it is a 10 bolt, the rear is 7.625"

you will have to take a look at your rpo codes to see what size your gears are, 3.23 were the only size to come in the manuals, so if you have a 5 speed, then that is what you have.

Ah gotcha, thanks for the clarification. Mine's an A4 - according to this page: http://www.f-body.org/tech/4th_gen.htm
the gears in an A4 are also 3.23.

Speaking of, are the 4L60s as similar to the 700R4 trannies as people say they are? Or should I ask that in the transmission forum...
