  • HOLY DarN-o! My chrome rims are turning GREEN!

    I AM SO gee-diddley-gosh-darn PISSED OFF!!
    I came home from school and found my chrome rims sitting on the back porch!!
    (they haven't been on my car because i have been trying to sell them)
    and i figured they just needed to be cleaned... but i have been cleaning them and they have these wicked greenish colored spots!!
    HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    what the **** is that??? what am i supposed to do to clean them, because i've tried a couple things and it's not coming off!!

    PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    pictures maybe? what sort of chemicals did you use on them to try to clean them? :eek:

        youre responses ranged from algae to cat urine (and those were the more intellignent ones)... the other clever remarks were deleted. [img]smile.gif[/img]

          Anyways. Is this green something that is forming ON the chrome, or is the chrome itself discoloring (If that can happen)

              try using chrome polish, windex works too but I dont know if the ammonia will eventually discolor them.

                    Yea simple green is also proven to corrode after time. And if they were my wheels, I would take them to a store that specializes in wheel repair and that type of thing, like over here we have SportsCar Tire they normally repair wheels and polish them. I'd take it to them before using every kind of chemical you can find in your closet. You would be better off hearing what they have to say.
