• RS badges on my 1993 camaro?

I am thinking about getting RS badges for the rear of my ‘93 Camaro because it just seems that something needs to go in that spot. I know it's not an RS, but it has a V6. I always get asked if its a V6 or V8, and with the RS badge I would not have to tell them. I am not trying to make my car an RS wannabe, but I just want the RS badge on the back. I don’t want a V6 badge on the back because I want something that is a stock part for F-bodies. What do you guys think?

p.s Yes I did read the post on the guy wanting to put z28 badges on his v6 camaro after putting a ls1 or a lt1 in it.

im the biggest anit-badge-your-car-as-another-model person lol.

represent what you got. The RS is a unique car, whether with the exhaust or the body kit. Theres not as many out there, and its good that way for the "real deal" to be noticed.

if you want to put something there, put a 3400 badge, or how bout a Camaro V6 with a bowtie back there.

just my opinion, dont badge what your not.

yeah of course your going to say that you both have a RS I dont think theres a huge deal about you doing it, if you have the RS gfx, exhaust and larger tires. By the way its your car dont let anyone on this board tell you what to do to it. They probably wont even see it in person

I voiced the same opinion on the subject of putting Z28 badges in that other thread: if you've got the hardware, go ahead and put the badges on Its ridiculous for people to think that their RS is sooo special that no one else with the same equipment can put an RS badge on their car. If you have the gfx, spoiler, etc., that's on an RS, your car is just as rare and special as a factory RS.

put something like Performance V6 or something of that nature, no need in catching hell from people about incorrect badging...and believe me, they will give it to you :D

I think its really STUPID IMO to badge it an RS when it is NOT! Unless there is an RP code denoting your vehicle an RS, its just as bad as putting z28 on a v6 imo..

Putting a z28 badge on a V6 now thats lame. At least a rs has a v6 also.

not the same v6 though.. my point is if u swap in an ls1 get an ls1 badge.. if u upgrade your six get something other then an RS its a factory option not an aftermarket option.. reguardless of what i have.. but thats my opinion and i'm entitled to it.. he did ask what everyone thought didn't he?

Well I was half way all right with badging a 4th gen with RS that doesn't have fx due to the new RS that SLP put out but the more I think of it the more I'm against it. In fact the more I think about it the more I'm against the new RS but oh well. There has to be a line drawn somewhere and no offense but a almost completely stock 93 camaro with RS badging is past that line.

I couldn't disagree with you more, badging a v-6 as a Z isn't even in the realm of controversial, it's just wrong and an outrage.

My car is the only non RS that I've seen that has 100% right to be badged RS (except the blue 98-99 back home thats badged RS too). I think it depends on each car to decide what badging is correct. Oh and the RS didn't come stock with exhaust I think that was a seperate performance package, if it was stock you couldn't even see it and it was just an extra pipe on the other side of the muffler.

If you want to see some of what has been discussed here on our board about my badging my car RS click here

Then I went to camaroz28.com with most of the points made from that post and put a post up click here to see that topic, not alot of replies and not really anything that wasn't said here, just stated better by me and alot shorter

Oh and I apologize ahead of time for any harshness that might have come out in our post

ok here's my two cents. my dad's car has the RS package in it from the factory. he has no ground effect's and no spoiler. so what would you classify that as? it's jsut like mine only his is black with silver stripes and mine is silver with black stripes. mine technically isn't an RS. but it has all the EXACT same stuff as my dad's it's just his has the RS badges. i checked the codes. and i think mine came factory as an RS but the guy who owned it before me took off the badges. the rear Fascia had the Bowtie and RS badges but the fenders didn't so i put them on. so far i haven't got sh*t for it yet.
