I have no idea, this is why I never got mine done.
I'm planing on doing my T tops as dark as possible (substitute for using the sunshades) and I'd like to get the rear window, &possibly the sides done but I want to keep it street leagal so I can make it through inspection.
Also, I dont understand the degrees of tinting and what the % mean.

Well I dont know the the % of NJ but I know what the % thing means.. It means how much light is let it.. Like the higher the number the lighter the tint.. So like 5% is pretty damn dark.. You understand?

I'm thinking if I get the T tops done & the hatch it will darken the car enough that doing the front will look fine, I'm not trying to hide anything, just look profiling.
Any degree for the rear? Dont they have some limit? what would be a good #? a friend of mine told me her's is 23% and that seems pretty dark.

you're an idiot.
5% is illegal in every state. in most states, if you have ANYTHING on the SIDE windows, its illegal. just break the law and do whatever you want.
i got pulled over last week for my windows being tinted. the first time in almost 5 years.

He was suggesting getting 5% in the back..not on the sides. No one is talking about side windows anymore..it was already cleary stated that sides are illegal.

the place that i get tinted at will put it back on once for free for inspection purposes.
but, when i see cars with just the back tinted and nothing else. it looks stupid. just go with both. but wait till after you get inspected. if its coming up that is. if you have a while for inspection. then get it done.
I wish in NJ we could get the sides done too. These people down the street from me have all their windows 5% from the looks of it (except for windshield of course) but then again all their cars in the yard have PA tags.

I was walking through the school parking lot today and parked next to me was a 98+ NBM TA- it's windows were really dark, I had to look through the windshield to see what transmition it had. is that 5%? of could something like that pass as less?
My inspection is due in either september or november dont rember.

Usually if you go to private shops to get an inspection, they let you go, but you have to pay about 50 bucks. But the state inspections that are free, dont pass you with tints in front.
