    Finally bit the bullet and started on my ttop conversion on the 02 Camaro.

    Got the roof skin off. Cut the pillars… but now I find myself not overly clear with how much to trim back the corners and exactly where I need to bend the existing metal. I have an idea, but I like being 100% sure

    Anyone who has done the conversion want to jump in and chime in on how far back I cut these corners, where exactly I bend and what I use the spot weld cutter on?

    This is where I am at…Camaro Firebird ttop conversion

    2002 SOM Z28 Camaro - 12.9 @ 104 mph
    1996 3800 Camaro - 13.43 @ 100.77 mph

    Never done one, but I have all of the parts to do the oonversion. There is alot of write ups online. Good luck with it, take your time.

      Thanks Steve, a lot of the writeups are outdated or are missing photos… stupid photobucket.

      I understand 95% of what I need to do on the corners but need to clarify some, or at least would feel better clarifying some stuff. Maybe I’ll do a new write up but seems like I also never have time for anything these days…

        That would be great if you could do a newer write up, I wouldn’t mind doing mine. But for me I’d get my Cousins husband to help me. Only thing I need is a T top headliner. I remember back in 2012 I bought all the parts and their was a guy who did just T top conversions on 93-02 Camaros , he was charging $1500 in labor and you had to supply all the parts. Crazy,lol

            I think you’re right Edgar, isn’t like a 4 part video? I remember watching one awhile back, pretty informative.

              A lot of the youtube videos I found don’t have much information. I have 90% of the info I need lol.

              I started forming the driver side front corner here:

                  Not sure if I have to get rid of that hump in the corner, but I have been using the existing metal to shape the area. The weatherstripping is starting to all make sense. I’ll trim down the height of the metal and then make small adjustments as I start fitting the ttop

                    Yes looking good, your making the channel for the weather stripping That’s the main thing. Looking good, I like how your doing it little by little and taking your time.

ID:	1579199 Weather stripping seems to be fitting pretty decent. Might have a few more spots to adjust. But this back gap is concerning to me. Shouldn’t the ttop be sitting on this lip? I feel like the ttop needs to push back some? Doesn’t appear I can do that though?

                      I have a bit of play up and down on the top, but I was thinking I still need to trim a touch more off the channel, but maybe not… need to figure out how to adjust the ttop brackets properly… don’t mine the gap at the windshield, the weather stripping is removed up there.

                              Not much. It’s been stupid busy around here. I did manage to make a 3.5 hr trek to pickup a ttop sail panel though. So I shouldn’t have to worry much about the gap as it should go together and finish like factory now.

                              Hoping my windshield removal wire comes in today and I can work on getting my sail panel off over the next few days. Test fit this puppy on, finish trimming up the weather stripping channels and then she is ready for fiberglass and paint more or less
