  • Going to the track again tomorrow

    Wish me luck.

I have a new MAF, got rid of plugs that looked like they've been there for 2 years, a set of burnt wires, new tires and a fresh oil change. :)

The plugs, my friend got a hold of for me, he owed me money. I wanted the NGK's but he could only get AC Delco Platinum Rapidfires. Any goods or bads about those plugs?

Anyway, yesterday, I went to the track for a drag school, basically you practice launches and stuff. Had nothing else to do...I dropped my 10.1 1/8th mile down to 9.996 on the first run. After that I couldn't launch worth ****. I think it's because I was happy enough to finally hit the damn 9's in the 1/8th. I'm the second of my closest friends to hit the 9's...the other one is a 91 regal with the L67. =)

9.996@70.49 mph, with a 60ft of 2.4! :(!!! I gotta fix that bad. I want to at least be mid-15's. Low 15's would be nice, but yeah I don't want to get ahead of myself here.

Wish me luck tomorrow of at least a 15.5. :)

    (199,225 ) ... I'm almost at 200,000 on my motor...I'm gonna cry.

    Best of luck to ya!

I remember when I first got the car and had 200,000km on the clock when I last went to the drag strip. I was so excited to tear into the 14's on the very first run (14.998), that I couldn't touch them the rest of the day :D

I cant wait til next season when I get down there with all my new mods! 12's, here i come!! :D:D

If I didn't have to worry about bills and got more hours at work, I could hit 14's by now....... =(

        R/T - .9130

        60ft - 2.3001

        330ft - 6.5249

        ET@594ft - 9.3617

        1/8th ET - 9.9960

        1/8th mph - 70.95

'er I was like .46mph off lol

yeah, I kind've still spun out at launch.

I'm just hoping for 15.5's, because technically with the higher mileage and my test pipe missing ( fell off on the highway. doh! ) I'm still assuming stock horsepower if not less.

motor has been religiously taken care of all it's life though. It's never been to the track or really raced until I got a hold of it....it's been through burnouts though.

Those times will drop a bit to if you're awake on the line :D If you can drop that R/T down a bit 15.5 will be no sweat.

Yes! I was mad at the 15.8. lol I bogged the motor off the line, I went up against a yellow cobalt.

                    It's alright, I ran a 15.53 ( I think ) @89.65mph when they cleared the staging lines. I felt better.

Yeah...I call it the chainsaw on stereoids, running open downpipe probably isn't helping my 1/4 mile either.

you still have that block you bought?
