  • Weight the same?

Can someone please tell me if my 97 camaro rs and my 99 firebird should be the same weight without me in it. The camaro has full exhaust no spare or rear panels or back seats. the firebird still has full interior with the spare. and the both weigh 3320 on the cat scale??????????????

    Re: Weight the same?

You also have to take into consideration the amout of options on each car. For instance, power windows and locks will weigh more than manual ones.

Also, taking out your spare, backseat and the plastic panels in the back doesn't drop as much weight as you might think. Maybe 40-50 lbs at the most.

Edit: Also, if you have the RS ground effects kit and spoiler on the Camaro, that will add a bit of weight.

And someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the automatic transmission is a bit heavier than the manual?

the automatic transmission is heavier. Sounds like your 'Maro is a pig if it weighs as much as the 'Bird. :)
