How much are 18in corvette rims slowing me down?
I have a 18in Corvette Z06 Rims and I was just wondering how much better my car would do if I put my stock rims back on. So far my best is 15.7 and I weighted the stock rims at 37lb each and my 18's at 55lb each.

Of course the bigger rims weigh more but then you factor in there probably less tire weight since it's much lower profile it might not be such a difference.
It's really a toss up to be honest, if you use the exact same tire, just different sizes. With the 18's you get much more width, which means more traction. If the 16's are really that much lighter then you have less rotating mass, which helps with accel.
Overall though, with a near stock car you probably won't see more than a tenth or so difference either way. another good thing about the 16s is that you will have more side wall..which is better for traction..its tough to say though..i ran all of my times on 18x9.5 chrome C5s

will each tire is about ~20 x 4 = ~80 lb of fthe car... from my expeance the low profile tire and more steal band in them so they stay strong..... so i would say withthe same 60 foot you could drop about .1www.turbov6camaro.com

I can't quote 1/4 mile time differences but.....
As rolling resistance decreases... the car will go quicker.
As weight decreases... the car will go quicker.
