  • A 99 cent part! Video and pic's added now

So, went racing last night, got home around 12:30 and was tired so I went to bed.

    2 full bottles
    26 X 10.5 X 16 slicks
    skinnies with front runners

    Front shocks set to 2
    Rear shocks set to 4

N/A passes front tires to 50, rear to 30
Nitrous passes front tires to 50, rear to 15
My buddy brought a container of VHT so I was spraying down my slicks here n there

Weather started in the mid 60's and eventually went down to the mid 40's.

    So:
    N/A
    60......1.792
    330....5.549
    1/8.....8.746
    mph....76.68
    1000...11.523
    1/4.....13.885
    mph....95.61

Not bad for N/A considering nitrous plugs in bird, 2 full bottles, 1/2 tank of gas

    60......1.825
    330....5.565
    1/8.....8.757
    mph....76.74
    1000...11.531
    1/4.....13.894
    mph....95.58

This run sucked, forgot to set line locks, poor burn out, when line locks were reset and I did the burn out the entire car ended up turning towards the wall, and eventually wheel hopped

    60......1.653
    330....4.953
    1/8.....7.758
    mph....87.59
    1000...10.207
    1/4.....12.302
    mph....107.91

This was a nitrous pass.... but somewhere around the 1000 ft mark all of a sudden the nose dropped to the ground, it felt like someone with a huge foot stepped on my bird or someone applied the brakes.... I was like WTF???? I did not spray off the line because I knew I'd have more runs that night for nitrous so I figured let me get back into the groove. After this round and the next round I found one of my bottle warmers were not working so I shut one bottle off and heated up the good one to a good psi. I figured I would just use each bottle on their own instead of tandem.

    60......1.799
    330....5.567
    1/8.....8.777
    mph....76.23
    1000...11.567
    1/4.....13.946
    mph....94.90

Sad part is... this run was intended on being nitrous! I rolled up, bottle psi was good, bottle warmer working lovely, healthy burn out, nice purge a couple times, floor it, push the button and nothing! My buddy who was behind me was like WTF? My g/f who was video taping was like WTF? I was like WTF? I pulled into the pits.... did some testing... and eventually found out that my push button for my nitrous crapped out! The master works, the bottle warmer works, the purge works, the bird was running good, I had VHT, WTF?!?!?!??!

So, I took out the bottles, put them in the g/f's car and went for a last pass of the night. Still had nitrous plugs in bird and way more gas than normal.

    60......1.777
    330....5.511
    1/8.....8.686
    mph....77.19
    1000...11.443
    1/4.....13.789
    mph....96.30

This would be my third pass ever going 13.7's N/A and this set up was not N/A friendly so I am happy.

As for nitrous passes... silly push button nitrous switch!

Time to replace, investigate the one warmer situation (although that is not crucial) and eventually hit the track again.

I could, in theory, be mad about last night.... but to have a 12.3 pass as a bad run??? Is that all that bad???? ;)

Nitrous where it cuts out.... it sounds like I shifted but that is me going from nitrous to N/A :(

      Re: A 99 cent part!

pussy, I would have ripped the wires out of the back of the switch and touched them together when I wanted to run the juice. LOL

nice n/a runs though, this time upgrade to the $1.69 switch.

You can hear the engine sound completely different top end..... no more nitrous spraying so the engine wasn't screaming anymore.

                      Sigh... damn you electrical
