do you think auto is better for drag racing? I know it shifts perfectly when its supposed to, but usually with less gears the acceleration is a little slower. If I were you I'd just keep working on a manual. I've gotten pretty good at shifting in one myself, but what do I know about 500rhp?

      Seriously though I think you should just work on it. Build your transmission stronger and check into getting a 6spd that would be bad!

      by the way man, I was going to bite your style and get the same rims you've got but in 18's, but I've recently found a totally different set. I'm not telling anyone though. They going to look good when I get them.

          Explain to me how you launch with an auto... The idea is a little confusing to me. do you leave it in neutral and get your rpms to the most that you can and still keep traction, then drop back to drive and gun it?

            no NEVER DO THAT

            you hold your foot on the brake, front breaks always come on first, then you give it a little bit of gas and depending on your stall of the torque converter you can stall up to around that RPM and when you lanch left off the brake and phus tha gas

                    </font>
thats how you make a dyno pull 1:1 gear. get it to 2000-2200 rpm in tha gear start the dyno and floor it

                    if you shifted it like you normally would the dyno would be way off from spikes, more so on a auto car....

                    watch any dyno video and it done the same way

                    you never made dyno pull before ?

                      or get an auto with a transbrake and rev it up against that...then you should be able to leave at the stall speed your converter is rated at ie 4000rpm stall or what have you...with an auto you'd also be putting a load on the motor so you'd leave on much more boost.

                            I could tell you floored it. I saw your a/f go past 12. This summer should be very exciting for you. And I cant wait

                            I know you're having tranny problems and I'm sure you have several priorities for your car. but have you put any thought into a big brake upgrade? If you get that 100mph trap time in the 1/8 like youd like, it might be nice to be able to stop the car

                                viper, can you put a 6spd auto on your car? I'd imagine that would be best.
