hey i dont mean to ask a stupid question but its really starting to bother me. with the nearest drag strip 1.5 hours away i might not make it before they close. so here goes if i could have a similar modded cars time or an estimate from anyone that would be awesome. its a 96 5 spd 3.8
pacesetter headers, magnaflow high flow cat, complete 3" exhaust including i-pipe and s-pipe. edelbrock cat back. slp cai. msd dis 4 and that whole setup. i would love to know can i drop into 14's with this? i would love to beat 14.9(my buddies honda) thanks guys

with a good launch and good shifts, id say its possible to nab a 14.8-9.

at least aim for a 2.0. lca's can help, esp if your experiencing wheel hop. torque arm will also help with launching.

there j&m, im not really worried about matching them as there all basicly the same.

torque arms have alot of diff designs though.

any 14 second timeslip with that setup is VERY optimistic. I would say 15.5 and below. That's the best estimate you can really hope for. I don't know what the humidity, weather, etc. is like in Washington but hope for a mid-15 or less. Driving skill is also a factor with a 5-spd.

well hold on now. isnt it supposed to run about 15.7 stock? with headers and full exhaust and intake and ignition you think that will drop it 2 tenths? that sounds way the hell off. the weather is anywhere from hot to cold lol and like no humidity almost never.

Every car is different, even if you think it is supposed to run 15.7 stock, you may only run 15.9 or something. Weather and skill have a lot to do with it. I think you would be in the low 15's. 14's if you nail the launch and are an excellent driver in perfect conditions. Why don't you just race the honda?

lol ive raced the same car as the honda one after another and i know his is faster than mine. what else could i do to drop it into 14's suspension or engine wise. perhaps ported heads and intake? i dont want to pay 1700 for a head package from somewhere online. thats insane bank. how about 1.9 rockers?

Work on the suspension first. All the power in the world won't help you if you can't get any traction.
