• Would you like to help moderate the Drag Racing Section?

Due to my new responsibilities with HP Tuners, I am no longer able to put in the amount of hours moderating this forum as I once was.

If you would like to moderate this forum, please post a little bit of info regarding your self and your skills in this thread. Sell yourself to us.

We are looking for someone who has drag racing experience. Racing experience of 2+ years would be nice. You should know the difference between radials and slicks, how tire pressure affects your launch and grip, drag racing suspension techniques, track etiquate, how weather affects power output, and other things related to achieving better ET's or correcting for slower ET's.

A good person for this job would be someone who has a decently fast 3.8 that has put in the time and effort to achieve some above-average track #'s with the desire to continue to achieve better numbers while at the same time is willing to help others go faster as well.

We are looking for mature experienced members who can represent themselves in a professional manner and help those who require it without bashing those that seem a little off-pace with the rest of us.

If you are not interested in moderating this section, please do not post in this thread.

Thanks!

I am EXTREMELY interested!

I have 6+ years experience at the 1/4 mile track

I have well over 1000 passes in a 3800 series 2 v6 f body.

I have probably the most extreme v6 set up for 1/4 mile racing

I am also experiencined in the following cars down the track:
98 c5
00 c5
03 benz
04 neon
03 neon

I've raced both RWD and FWD cars

I've raced both auto and manual cars.

I've run radial tires, drag radials, et streets and et drags.

I would say I have a decentlty fast v6 ;)

My times are... above average ;)

I DEFINATELY desire quicker #'s!

I can be mature

And, im experienced due to nitrous section

1 vote for me

I'd be willing its the section I visit the most...

Guess I will throw some qualifications in here as well...

-I have owned 3 v6 f-bodies(been racing v6s since before this board came up)
-I currently hold the 3.4L N/A record. With stock heads, cam, exhasut manifolds/y-pipe, computer, clutch, Full street trim(minus jack and spare), and on street tires...

-I am ranked 10th for N/A 3.8L
-my car is zero dollar modded(free mods only)
-3rd fastest n/a v6 on street tires(mine were original factory tires)
-2nd fastest stock heads/cam(not including MAgnus 14.00)
-fastest n/a car on an open diff
-fastest n/a manual car with 3.23s(james has an auto)
-Not sure what other cars didn't have full interior.

The sticky at the top asking people to list their slips and other info before they ask questions is from me Its even word for word :D

I may not have had the most powerful cars, but my practice and experience at the track I have been able to get numbers out of them.

I am interested as well......

I have been in the drag racing curcuit since 1986.....

Allthough I do not own my Camaro anymore I still know what it take to get down the track consistently.....

I ended the season last year with the camaro in 16th place and currently 22nd on full weight, street tires, mild bolt on's and through stock manifolds.....

I currently own an LS1 car so as members go on to bigger and better things I feel I can still help......

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...
