• Got my 13 today with the Powerdyne

And not just the high 13 I was hoping for.

    A good solid 13.635 @ 98.1 mph.

    RT .040, 60' 1.906, 1/8 8.637 @ 79.31

I autocrossed the car all morning, then put the dr's and the skinnies on, and ran the 13.6, so it's working out to be a good all around setup too. :D

Got first place in the autocross event too. V8 f-bodies, a Gran Prix (GTX whatever that is) and a WRX.

I was a happy racer today. Even if I forgot to soften the front shocks after switching from ax to drag...

I wasn't looking.... I was racing an SS, I got the jump on him on reaction time, and I got him a couple of tenths out of the hole on top of that too. So I was watching to see if I could stay out in front.

Towards the end of the track, I could hear him, but couldn't see him. I could tell he was gaining on me. He ended up crossing the line .1024 before me.... His 110.6 trap speed was quite a bit more than mine. I held him off until the very end though.

I did watch it on the way home and it was hitting 8-9, but I wasn't winding it all the way up.

I think it was a newer one.... I just remember seeing an SS emblem on the fender when I glanced over at it... It ran a 12.99 with a 2.15 60' time.

I wasn't really paying too much attention to the other car, because I was thinking about getting a 13 second timeslip for the first time, getting a good burnout, etc., etc. Funny how everything else is almost off in the background somewhere when you get really focused on something. thats pretty good. So the maf is unplugged so the map sensor makes the adjustments for fuel. Any problems at idle or at wot with the injectors?

That mph seems really low for that ET. I would have figured it at closer to 102 or 103. Am I off on that??

                      Congrats on the time btw.

I was thinking the same thing...

I ran a 14.1 a few weeks ago, and trapped at 99.8 mph. So you would think the mph would be even higher with a 13.6 et. Instead of lower.

Most of the et gain came from dropping my 60' from 2.2 to 1.9 today.

And when I was spraying into the mid 13's last year, I was trapping 102-102.5 mph.

The only other thing I can think of, is that I was turning the boost-a-pump up to 50% (max setting) when I ran the 14.1 time. This time I forgot and left it at 35%.

It holds about 71psi fuel pressure at 35%, and will go to 76psi or so at 50%. So I may have been leaning out a bit on the top of the rpm range. On the 14.1 run, I was leaning out some, even with the bap at 50%. So it probably was even worse today with it only at 35%. I didn't log it today though.

Man your dyno was so far off do to fuel problems......Youve got to be ATLEASTE 275 at the wheels to pull off dose kind of times.

So it was written....So it was done....

Some one finaly pulled a mid 13 with just the powerdyne.

What makes it even sweeter is that your car wasnt one of the cars that ran in the 14's NA and then ran a high 13 with a turbo or nos sytem and said hey look how awesome my system is...I ran 13's with JUST THIS. When really there car was decently quick to begin with.

Your car was a run of the mil, mid 15 second car with a best 1/4 of like 15.3 or 15.4......

Then you add the powerdyne and run a 13.6.

                            NOW THATS WORTH TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!!!!!

Might be some more powerleft in there.

I thought I could convert over to a draw-through system using an LS1 maf sensor, instead of a blow-through using the stock sensor. But I never could get it tuned right. The curve is all different on the LS1 sensor. I could get it to idle, but it would be way too lean anywhere else. I could get it to run strong on top, but too rich at idle. I went through a maft, an Apexi SAFC-II, and a ZZP mini-afc 2.0.

The maft was a linear adjustment, and didn't cut it. The mini-afc has multiple adjustment ranges (13 of them) but the breaks didn't fall at the right place for the LS1 maf, and when I adjusted the range for reported/observed idle frequency on my setup, it covered the same range as the initial throttle tip-in and the car would go lean and die everytime I gave it the gas.

The SAFC-II probably would have worked great because it has user selectable rpm breaks for different adjustment levels, and it can take the throttle position into account too. But I had a bad unit, sent it back for warranty in January, and still haven't gotten the replacement.

Unhooking the sensor lets the pcm run in speed density mode, where it tracks by map, rpms, and iat. It still monitors the o2 sensors, and still manages ltrims. This works great for idle and part-throttle. It handles the 24lb injectors just fine.

It works relatively well for wot too, until about 5000 rpms, then it doesn't add enough fuel. The pcm will actually start cutting the injector pulse widths back from 5k to 6k rpms, instead of holding steady or holding them open longer. With the boost increasing at that time too, it's not an ideal situation. I was manually turning the boost-a-pump dial up higher once I got to the top of 2nd gear, to help resolve that sitatuation.
