  • Thoughts about what times i'll pull.

    The very first time I was at the track last year. All I had done was a dynomax superturbo and some sort of ram air (i don't know if it was any count)
    Very first run ever (I think i was capable of 15.7s)

    1/4 -> 15.975
    MPH -> 87.50
    60' -> 2.485
    R/T -> .596

    Ok now I have flowmaster american thunder 3in all the way back, with a carsound cat. A home made cold air induction, and a 1pc driveshaft. I heard that the driveshaft should put my MPH to around 90. And my friend dropped from 15.3 to 14.8 with the same catback. Consistently!!! I think im good for a 15.4 at my best and a 15.6 as a worst. Mind you I still have 3.08s open rear. My goal with a nice tune up is a 15.4 though. What have you guys seen on your open rears and what have you done? I noticed the best time on them where 15.2, I plan on dropping 3.42s and LSD in soon also. I think I can pull a high 14.7 if I try hard. What do you guys think? Am I just full of ****?

    14.7 is attainable with the new catback and 3.42s/LSD. You might be able to hit 15.4 with the new catback and cat, although I wouldn't be expecting a half-second drop just from that. Your friend ran the car in different conditions, so who knows what factors were involved in his big drop in the et. It could've been a number of things besides the new exhaust that made him run faster, although it definitely helped I'm sure.

      Catback was the only thing he did from the time he pulled 15.3 and ran 14.8. But yea there are definatley going to be different factors etc... I guess i'll just see what I can do

        At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
        Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...
