• New best in the TA: 12.112 @ 112.23 MPH All Motor!

Recently I installed a new cam (231/224 .575/.563 111LSA), valvesprings, retainers, pushrods, intake manifold (Holley allumninum), poly motor mounts, Jet Hot longtubes, Hooker off road y-pipe, torque converter (Yank ST3500, 2.5STR), and a trans cooler. Last Thursday I went to Norris Motorsports in Orlando for tuning and was very unimpressed with the numbers she put down: 356rwhp, 341rwtq. Well today I feel much better.
I went to the track tonight and laid down some new times. Previous best was 13.012@107.30. New best:

R/T ... .233 (.000 scale... ZzzZzzzz)
60' ... 1.696 (and still spinning!!!!!)
330 ... 4.963
1/8 ... 7.722
MPH ... 89.03
1000 .. 10.101
1/4 ... 12.112
MPH ... 112.23

I was hoping to see 11s with all this before I put everything in... although after the dyno numbers I didn't know what to expect. This more than pleased me. I know she has 11s in her still!

Thanks guys!

southern94: I love the cam, but still need some more tuning on it. It's idling a little higher than I want it to (900-950 hot) but it still wants to choke off after a burnout or quick stab of the throttle.

Good time.

I think you should be putting down more power and lower ETs with those mods but there are a lot of factors like the track you race. Goodluck with 11's, they shouldn't be a problem with a cammed LS1.

Just a little side question. LS1's start out with about 15-20 more torque than HP. SO why is it that so many tuned LS1's that I see have HP 15-25 higher than the torque? Just curious.

From what i've read, having an after market torque converter can through off your dyno numbers.

Longtubes, 3" exhaust, no cats, etc. These things will take away from the torque. Most aftermarket LS1 cams are designed to make big horsepower, not (as) big torque.

Wanna trade Torque Converters? ;) I love my SY3500 but with the 1.6str I can only muster a 1.75 60' at best.

What size DRs or ET streets do you use at the track?
