• 15x6 front wheel question.

Does anyone know if a 3.5" backspacing is correct to run 15x6 rims on the front? Anyone running this larger size on the front?
    Thanks,
JAM
02 Firebird GT

That sounds fine, but the BS is not really what you need to be concerned with.. it's the mounting surface on the back of the wheel. It needs to clear the calliper and not rub. You should mount the wheel and rotate it to see if there is any calliper contact. You'll have to experiment to see what works.

Hmmm has anyone else already done any experiment with a 15x6 and know what backspacing will work for sure?

What are you trying to accomplish with these rims? You probably won't save much weight over your factory wheel/tire combo. Go with the 15x3.5 and a 165/65/15 Metric Radial.

i've got an '02 camaro, and i know the third gen firebird & camaro rims will not clear the calipers on the front. if anyone finds some 15's that fit, speak up.

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...
