  • First pass done, now questions...

I made my first pass at Maple Grove a few weeks back. My goals were to do better than 16sec and have a good reaction time. Reaction time was 5.2 and I ran 15.84 at 86. I did a small burnout. My car is an automatic and I am wondering what is the proper technique for a launch. Do I hole the break and get to a certain RPM? Shift manually? Should I mess with tire pressure (Firestone Firehawks)? Cool down between runs? What I do know is that it was awesome and I can't wait until next time!

well first your r/t is horrible, work on that. Yes you should try to cool the car before you run to avoid hot lapping, lower your tires down to 20-25 psi and launch anywhere from 1300-2000 rpms, what ever works best.

Correction on the reaction time, I meant .521.

THE R/T WAS GOOD. THE BEST YOU CAN GET IS .500. SO .521 ON YOUR FIRST PASS IS GOOD.

        POST YOUR TIMESLIP

WE NEED TO SEE THINGS LIKE THE 60', THE 1/8TH, AND THE 1/4. ET'S AND MPH'S. THEN WE CAN ANALYZE AND SEE WHAT YOU CAN DO.

DO YOU HAVE 3.42 GEARS OR NOT? IF SO, YOU HAVE A LOT OF ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT.
