• where are all the hardcore racers.

lately it's seems that the drag racing section has been dying. i'm a person all about fun competition. i just want to see who's out there and is really to step up the notch and go all out..

we really need to get more cars in the low 14's high 13's. i'm going all out with the weight reduction. i'm at a point now where my car is worth nothing cause of all the mods and abuse.

with that said i really don't care if i blow the car up or not, i just want to put down so serious numbers..

stay tuned... low 12's are in the works.

some of us are just a little lacking on the money side, and are waiting for summer to get here.
more hours of work = more money = mods.

My best so far is 13.22 and I'm shooting to be the next one to break into the 12's...

Since then, I got some bfg dr's to put on my stock rear wheels.

Got some bogart wheels (fluted star) and moroso skinnies for the front.

Will be hooking up a Crane TRC-1 timing retard over the weekend (if the speed shop can track it down).

And putting my new tsp intake lid on.

Then some a/f tuning with the lt1 Impala maf sensor I put on last night...

Passenger seat and rear seat back will be removed for my next run.

I need to ask you about your opinion on the best internals for a 3.8 sometime. Since the little guy has withstood the 150 shot, I'm really thinking about a 200... The other 50 would be a second stage, 4500rpm and up. (which is almost all of 2nd and 3rd gear)

I'm thinking just forged pistons and o-ringed heads would be enough to handle it.

And whatever special ring gap you're supposed to use for nitrous.

L67 rods with the intense pistons..

Not sure if o-ringed heads are needed though. I believe Scott@Intense had his heads o-ringed, that's tricky business though.

are you really planning to go all out and run a 200 with forged internals. that would be a killer setup..

You have not seen what I am capable of yet. [evilgrin]

When I play tuning mechanic at the track for others, I've dropped their cars' 8/10ths of a second, so imagine what I can do to mine own?!?

I'll definitely post something on it (the trc-1), when I get it working. The parts shop has to locate it first. Their warehouse is scratching their heads over it at the moment.

The 200 shot, is just a thought right now. Percentage-wise, it's not a whole lot more than what I'm throwing at it already. The difference from 350hp to 400hp is only 14%. (crank numbers)

That should be good for a 12.5 or so.

Another 18% on top of that, should be good for an 11 second time. (around 470hp at the crank, 390 rwhp - may not be possible with the v6... )

If I do an engine buildup, it will probably be during the fall/winter. Something to do in the garage, on those days where there is not much daylight...
