  • First times from the strip!

Made it out to Byron Dragway over the weekend. Somewhat of a last minute decision but for my first time out, it was a flipping blast. Battled a cold track most of the morning before the sun came out and warmed things up. First 3 passes I nailed the throttle at the 3rd yellow and spun my tire (yes I meant "tire") to all hell. Finally had to start stalling at around 1500 and slowly easing into it as I launched. I did not anticipate having to do battle so much spin. Here are my times. In put and tips on my slips would be more than welcome. I ran 28 and then down to 27PSI in my ****ty BFG Traction T/A tires. I have a CAI, Dynomax exhaust and just replaced all plugs, wires, fuel filter and valve cover gaskets. Everything else is pretty stock.

    Best run:

    60' ... 2.414

    1/8 ... 10.181
    1/8 MPH ... 71.83
    1000 ... 13.196
    1/4 ... 15.734

    2nd Best:

    1000 ... 13.214
    1/4 ... 15.765
    MPH ... 86.95

    3rd Best:

5spd or auto? Good times for what's done though... I can't even get into 15s, thanks to elevation.

That's about what I had done when I ran my first time, and my best was 16.58. But, that was with like 11k DA.

Yeah that high up is brutal to try and tune a car. I love watching the NHRA guys run up that high and try to make those dragsters scream down the track.

That's pretty good for an almost stock car. Did you run with a full weight?

If you could get a 2.0 60ft your car would be on the verge of 14's

Yeah almost full weight. I did remove the spare tire and jack. Along with everything lose in the car and the back plastic panels that cover the jack. But thats it. Might put a little more work into lightening it up more. I have my LSD and 3.42's ready to go in over the 4th july so thatll help a lot too.

You really need some more grip. That open dif is killing you. Once you get that 60' down you should be good to go.
