  • Took the Jeep to the track

So, I went with a different route for racing and ran the jeep exactly how it is run every day on the street.

    1/2 tank of gas
32 psi front and rear tires
Misc tools n crap in the jeep.

    Run 1
    R/T .340
    60 ft 2.137
    330 5.899
    1/8 8.919
    mph 82.42
    1000 11.472
    1/4 13.637
    mph 104.02

    Launch - 2,000 rpm's
    Race weight - 4880 lbs

I was the first car down the track that morning and I spun - I didn't expect to spin but I did.

    Run 2
    R/T .172
    60 ft 1.826
    330 5.394
    1/8 8.410
    mph 81.41
    1000 10.997
    1/4 13.183
    mph 102.73

    Launch - 2,500 rpm's
    Race weight - 4875 lbs

I hooked - I was surprised that the stock converter would hold to 2,500 rpm's.

    Run 3
    R/T .708
    60 ft 1.846
    330 5.413
    1/8 8.398
    mph 82.49
    1000 10.951
    1/4 13.118
    mph 103.73

    Launch - 2,000 rpm's
    Race weight - 4875 lbs

I wasn't ready and didn't have the converter fully stalled - oh well.

I am fully confident that with practice I can go 13.0.

I am fully confident that if I raised the tire psi, ran much less gas and emptied all the misc crap in the jeep I'd hit a 12.9.

Either during the winter or spring I'll get a tune - that should get me a couple tenths.

I've got a couple other tricks that I'll get to in the spring

    Current mods:
    K&N cold air
    BB Tri Flow cat back

Not bad for a winter beater right?

Oh yeah, there was a new Jeep SRT8 there (470 HP version) and I kept on beating him by a couple tenths.

nice work man!! gotta love a 12 second grocery getter

i'm pretty sure i remember a comparison of the jeeps when the newest gen SRT came out and even though it's got more displacement and power, it's actually slower even stock vs. stock against your model. that, and the 6.4L isn't set up to tune like the 6.1, so you have much more potential on tap.

if i didn't have the TBSS i'd pick one up just like yours. sweet truck man!

Congrats thats hauling for an SUV.

There is a couple of them in the 11's and low 12's up here.

When they break it gets pricey though.
