  • Issues resolved!!!

Finally got a fuel pressure regulator on the car. Still need to tweak it some, but so much better already. First pass was a 12.40@110! Back to where I was before this whole fuel issue. It was still pretty hot out last night, well above 80 degrees and humid, so that give me hope that there is still a little more on the table.

It was a street racing style event, and as such, I was ready to race anything.

1st Race Me vs. 06 Yamaha R6 - Got spotted out 10 cars, and lost by about an inch. It was really close, and I thought I had him til I saw the win light in the other lane. Really cool guy.

2nd Race Me vs. SRT-4 Neon - Yeah, I know, it's a neon. It was fully built, slicked up, gutted and moving out. He had raced the bike heads up and clipped him. So, we negotiated me getting 6 cars and the hit. Cracked the bottle open ;) and thought I would just have to spray 1st and 2nd gear and pretty much coast to the finish, I was wrong. I looked behind me in 2nd gear and this car was charging hard. Stayed in the spray all the way to the stripe and won by less than a car length. That guy was pissed!

3rd Race Me vs. 30th Anniversary Trans Am - I love those cars, the blue wheels give me wood. His car was heads/cam/bolt on's/built rear/all the good parts, but on an aggressive street tire. My car is on an ET Street Radial. Tree came down, and I put 6 cars on him out of the hole. Stayed that way the whole way down the track.

I'll get some vids up after I get them from my friend. I had a blast and was hotlapping the car like a mad man!

i dont think they run the boards on those kinds of events given the car spotting and stuff. you do a bit of T&T to see where everyone is, then it kind of goes like pinks used to do.

I made a 12.40@110 shake down pass on HP. Just wanted to make sure the car was back to running well now that the fuel pressure is better situated. Best I ever went was 12.2x@111 in MUCH better weather, so I was good with that.

No clocks at all. You can get a timeslip if you make a test pass, but you can't get one if you start out past the starting line, since they have no idea when you start. Make sense?

Best spray pass is still a 11.60@119 on paper, but I know I went much faster against the Neon, as I went across the traps well north of 120mph.

yea that makes sense. i wish they did more of those events here just for ****s and giggles. i love heads up and bracket racing and all but something a bit different every once in a while like that would be awesome too just for the hell of it.

Yeah, that thing had to be every bit of a 10 second car. We didn't realized we had raced him before with my friends 99 Z28, which is an 11.20 car on HP, and lost heads up. My strategy worked out well, burning him down led to him bogging the hell out of the launch giving me the little bit I needed to hold him off. If the track had been just 10 feet longer, he would have passed me in time. When he came around after the finish, he had me out MPH'd by at least 10-15.
