If you own a boat, know a person who does, or plan on buying one in the future, this will effect you. Please just take a glance at one of these, at least the video.

Cliff notes:
Govt. is trying to force all boaters to obtain a costly permit each year. The intentions were to only enforce this on commercial ships, but unfortunatley, recreational boats were sucked into the mix.

I couldn't agree with you more, but this law is unreasonable to recreational boaters. Charging high cost permits won't get the morons off the water.

no kidding, look at cars... and IMO boats are alot safer anyway

only because there are fewer of them than cars. One night, no joke, some drunks on a party barge almost ran into my buddy and I fishing. We flashed a spotlight in his eyes and sounded the air horn. All we heard was "oh ****! I didn't even see them!".

And yes, we had the running lights on.

yea... true, but the fact that there is less of them sure helps... plus, they're not near as fast as cars (usually) giving you time to at least jump out first :)

There are less boats, but you also drive them in much more confined areas. I still agree with Mr. Speeding. Morons Galore on the water. But still not the point of this post, haha.

here you need a licence, but it is a one time thing....I got mine a few months back...dont own a boat, but I think its good to have, I go out on a boat maybe once, twice a year...
