I need an alternator for my car and was wondering if anyone else had purchased from www.buy-oem-parts.com. What do guys think of them? Is there anything about them I should know?

looks like another 3rd part person like Gmparts.com
but the Microfich looks alot better... try it out, prices dont look too bad. personally if you were getting an alternator, I would go to your local parts store.. these places normally take a little while to ship out. I think I waited almost 6 weeks for a trim piece that I later found out I didnt need, and couldnt send it back because it was a special order Item.

I looked at http://www.GMPartsDirect.com as well and after shipping and handling, http://www.buy-oem-parts.com was cheaper. I was looking because my dealership will charge me full MSRP, which is like $450 plus labor and I was hoping that I could just buy an alternator from one of these sites and then have my dealer just install it for me.

its not hard to install an alt. shouldnt take more than an hour for someone that doesnt know what they are doing aslong as you have a haynes...

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
