    Hi guys and gals,

I have been lurking this site for a bit and decided to join up after reading so many of your posts, both technical and random crap. This looked more and more like my kind of place so here I am.

A little about myself. I live up north in B.C. I have owned 3 f-bodies and loved every one of them.

first car was an 81 Trans Am. I never paid much attention to specs and to tell the truth i can't remember much about the car but how much i enjoyed driving it around. Used to be my uncles. He bought it new and I got it in 88.

second car was an 86 Firebird. Loved it until it was in a hit and run. front bumper all bashed up. and not a whole lot available for me to pick up a new one out here. it was a 2.8 litre V6 with t-tops. I drove it for about 2 years before one thing after another went on it. exhaust was fully rusted out, had to completely replace that, windshield cracked right across, replaced it, fuel pump went, not the most fun to fix that. finally the heater core went and I had a glorious steam bath on the way to work. yeah it is a cheap easy fix but I was sick of sinking money into this car. Not to mention I won a fair amount of money playing poker so i decided to upgrade to what i am driving now.

    99 Firebird Convertible.
    V6 3.8L
    Pewter
    stock except for the stereo.
    JVC KD-AVX11
    Rockford P300-1 amp
    2 x 10" Alpine E type subs
looking to do a few cosmetic mods to it but not too much to the engine. I figure if I wanted more power i would have bought a V8.
I am thinking of a new paint job, new rims, would love to shave the handles and antenna, (but it is illegal here to have shaved handles. Might try and tint a little darker on the side windows. (also illegal) I will have to see what i can do here.

Enough about me and my cars. here are a few pics.

I look forward to being part of this community, and look forward to any input on how to improve my cars looks.
I guess i need to figure out how to make a sig and avatar now.

the alpines sound pretty good. trunk rattles a bit but i can't hear it from inside the car. They are a pretty decent sub. The original monsoons that come with the convertibles sound so good still, i didn't even need to replace those. I guess that is the bonus of owning a car an old man had before me, doubt he even listened to the stereo.

thanks for the welcome to the board.

                    Re: introduction

I'm usually not a fan of pewter but your car is nice, welcome to the site. As far as sig goes you need to be a supporter. I think its 10 bucks a year and that allows for custom avatar, and if your not a supporter there are a few avatars to choose from under the "User CP" section at top of page on left.
