  • Introducing my self TheGhoul AKA Kevin

    Hey every one.
    Just joined up.
My names Kevin 25 from Macomb MI

Currently in my stable is this 99 3800 firebird blue green chameleon auto tan interior

    Current mods
    - drop in filter
    - free cold air mod
    - B&M shift kit
    - Pacesetter mid lengths and off road Y pipe
    - Flow master cat-back
This car is going to be the winter driver/GF’s summer ride. The plan for this one is going to be a L32 swap with intense 1x cam pack, 60lb injector set, perfect power SMT6 and 4:10 10bolt rear end.
Basically I’m going for allot more power than stock but more drivable in the winter than an ls1.

My summer driver is this 98 firebird formula

    Current mods
    - drop in filter
    - slp lid
    - fast toys ram air kit
    - 90MM maf
    - 5.0 short throw shifter, cut down stock stick
    - edlbrock mid lengths
    - slp loud mouth exhaust
    - 4:10 rear end
    - Hyper tech programmer
Plans for this one is an engine rebuild (ls6 intake, 6.0L heads, stout push rods, strong timing chain, turbo cam, new bearings, rings and arp hard wear), turbo kit, again perfect power smt6, Moser ford 9” 4:11 rear end.

      very nice cars!
      Hey thank you very much.

nope nope, no need to mod the bod.
I work in an army fabrication shop.
mandrel bender, water jetted flanges, solid aluminum motor mounts and trans mounts and I’m set...
worse comes to worse I can make the mounts to set the engine and trans forward a couple of inches and make a tick adaptor plate for the driveshaft.

Limiting factor there will be the oil pain hitting the cross member.

Im more worried about mounting the ps pump and AC....
time will tell. Project kick off will be next summer.

for now I have to swap out the dash, find some good non cracked door panels and also dealing with the insurance companies to get my car fixed after a girl in an suv tried to share a lane with me!! Yeah its an old new car but its still just a month old!!!! I was pissed, but she was cute and seemed very sorry about the whole thing.

Welcome. Just curious by why are you going with perfect power SMT6 instead of HP tuners? I barely know crap about tuning just yet but from what I've heard HP tuners is the best for our cars. Yeah and drivers that are obviously at fault are always sorry.

I didn’t know the HP's were that vestal.
The ls1 car came with one that only has one fuel map pre-loaded into it.
I knew they were good for going from stock to tuning taking into account exhaust intake cam ect... but i didn’t know it would be able to compensate for boost.

Real reason is its what I know. I already have the software on my laptop, I have a brain box left over from one of my other cars, and my local tuner loves smt stuff and knows them like the back of his hand. Oh, that and you have the option of running a 9 and/or 10th injector for that quick shot of fuel into the intake manifold when you really get into it.

                Ouch that sucks.
lucky for me the car is still fully covered and my company doesn’t penalize if your not at fault. I’m still on the hook for the deductible, but if I cant get it out of her insurance company she said she would pay it.
