Laptop Program Diagnostics and Tuning What about them?

Well with Christmas rolling around the corner and i'm now single i seem to find myself with some extra money, looks like i'm buyin stuff for myself (well the camaro) this year. Along with the front end swap I've been looking into this. I've seen a product in jegs and cant remember what it is, but you use your diagnostic port, laptop, and software to look at your codes and such and tune your vehicle. Are these programs any count and what about this one?

worth looking into and buying or are there any others out there you guys prefer? Sorry if this is in the section, i couldn't figure out what to classify this as.

It's a program you run on your computer, just like that one. It can read your codes, tune your car, and even do onboard diagnosis while you're drivin around town.

you cant use HP Tuners if you have a 94.. i believe MegaSquirt can do some data logging however..
