  • Pulled over.

Yep. Sure was. I was just getting off work, still in uniform, going down a road where the speed limit was 35. I thought it was 40, but that goes to show I wasn't paying attention. Right where the road goes to 40, I saw a car in the median. I immediately knew it was a cop. He had me by the time I saw him. Right as he was turning around to get me, I was already pulled over on the side of the road. He walked up, said he got me on radar going 47 in a 35. I already had my license, insurance, etc ready. I gave it to him. He came back and got me to sign a warning. Thing was, he was a HEAT unit. A unit designed esp. for dealing with traffic. Very aggressive cops. I also learned that I had Class D license. I never got a class C when I turned 18. lol. He looked at his watch after I signed it and goes, "Well...you got 20 minutes." So yeah. I have to fix that, especially being quite the night person I am. I'm always out at 3 AM. XD I continued home and I swear in the few miles I drove, I saw 5 cops. It was nuts. I got so lucky in not getting a ticket. I think me being respectful and my security uniform kinda helped me out there. Who knows. I gotta watch it next time!

Yeah, being respectful can be helpful in certain cases when the cop is not in a bad mood. It didn't work for me, but its a good thing you didn't get a ticket. Pay more attention next time ;)

20 bucks may help as well. They almost always do where I am. :)

        Re: Pulled over.

Valentine one > you... haha... but really I recently bought the passport escort and it's awesome. Now I can't imagine driving without it. Two nights ago I was driving on a highway in PA and all of a sudden the radar goes off. I was like WTF!, there's no way a cop will be out there. well, I find out that the cop was hiding under a bridge/street hideway in between N bound and S bound in pitch dark. If it wasn't for the detector, I would never know he was hiding back there. I would suggest you to get the passport 8500 (you get this model very cheap 130-170) or passport 9500 (for 200+) OR if money isn't a problem you can buy the master of all radar detector Valentine 1 (380-400ish). Passport Escort and valentine 1, only two detectors i have seen work. Other ones are POS in my opinion. You got lucky. Next time you might not be. Invest and protect your driving record

                  Re: Pulled over.

that sucks. i know a bunch of cops that say they are told not to give tickets for less than 12 over... so you were right at that point. it also helped that you had all your stuff ready.

when i got pulled over the first time, i had all my stuff out and ready. i was respectful, but still wasnt just bending over for the cop. i wasnt even speeding. as long as you show you are a respectful person, they will normally help you out.

                        Re: Pulled over.

Ok ok...geez. I'll quit with the XD's. ok? lol. And yeah. It's curfew. When I turned 18 I was supposed to get it switched to a Class C. Oh and about the radar detector, I've been driving without one for over a year now and I haven't always exactly done the speed limit. It took them over a year to catch me. I guess I kinda had like an ability to tell where they were. That or just the luck to be breaking the limit where they weren't. detector. Thing is, now that I got pulled over, I have to invest in a radar detector. Because if I don't, I'll get pulled over again. Hah. Murphy's Law at work for ya.

i got a ticket once for following too closely...
was coming back from california, on the I-8 i think. following my friend and got pulled over and ticketed for driving too close, wtf i didnt even know you could get a ticket for that. and i was super nice to the cop, i dont get it haha. i was so pissed off, cause the previous day i had gotten a speeding ticket going to california (which i deserved)
i was made sure i drove specialy good coming back and didnt even think about me driving to close, i was even going a little under the speed limit
