  • Car abuse update...

For those of you who have followed the Accord abuse post HERE, I have a little update on our progress.

We found a new car to destroy. We just took home a 95 Grand Am which can be seen here:

It's in really good shape, so I'm guessing we should get our money's worth out of it before its rendered completley useless. We've already started our list of "mods".

But the reason im posting is im looking for information. Does anyone know how, or where to direct me to get information on firing off the airbag? The last thing we want is for that SOB to blow off while we're fecking around. I've done some google searches but im not really finding anything helpful. Thanks!

So c'mon car savvy people, what do I gotta do?

    Re: Car abuse update...

1.take a mallet and hit the bumper :P

2.or you can pull the fuse (is there an airbag fuse?? hmmz..)

    3. or idk for sure, but in the firebird/camaro theres an airbag sensor right by the shifter you can unplug :P

    4. ducktape like 100ibs weight onto the dash where airbag is lmao
WE CAN REBUILD IT, WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY

on my sisters 94 im pretty sure there is an airbag sensor in the front near the bumper.

just pop open the hood, look for it and hit it with a hammer.

yeah, that's called a 100lb punch in the face.

btw, why destroy the car? seems like such a waste of money.

We WANT to have it blow off, just not while we are driving it. We know how to disconnect it, but what fun is that? We'd rather do something like number 4 in your suggestions and video tape it.

Listen, I could pay for therapy too, but this is much more fun.

Probably more than I should have...

In all though, I still didn't find much searching. I seriously might just have to try the mallet on the sensor thing, but I really don't know if that will work. It seems like it will just bust the sensor, not cause it to react. Who knows.

Nah, You guys are missing my point. I WANT to blow it off. I'll either stack sh*t on the steering wheel, or put like a blow up doll in it and have it fire off. It'd be entertaining to watch I think, lol.

find the wires running to it, one will be bright yellow, attach a length of wire to them, stand back and hook up a battery to the wires, boom

Wtf remove it if you can fire it off? I'll start digging for wires tomorrow, but today im feastin'. I guess I'll just start pumping 12 volts to everything, haha.

We hit a "jump" with the Accord, screwed something up. It seems to still drive ok though, so we decided we should probably get something else because the Accord needs to make it through the winter at least. It might be tough convincing him to bring the Accord back into the mess after we just shelled out the cash for this one, haha, but thanks for the idea... It's definitley worth a shot though, haha... :p
