    What mods do you have?

I have a built motor, and I shift at 5K. I'm too much of a wussy to push mine passed that.

drive the car really really fast....

Practice at the track to get a feel what works best, and with a 3.4L running al the way to redline isn't always best

Just shift where you feel comfortable... don't try and be a hero to get a second knocked off... You will want to go home with an extra second instead of going home on the flatbed with car problems.

I'd shift close to redline, just make sure you don't miss a shift and practice practice practice your launch. Oh... Have Fun

If you are running streets (which you probably are) skip the burnout. If you can, drive around the water box.

With your mods, I'd still with 5K.

disclaimer. I am not an expert. :)
