And how much do you have into your "hobby" of taking pictures?

I just dropped another 175.00 today on a prime lens, remote and tripod... and these were cheapies!! I've got to do the family photos this weekend and wanted to work on some new techniques with the prime.

Oh.. I'm shooting with Canon XTI 10MP.

    Gear:
    XTI (black body  )
    EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 USM
    EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 III USM
    EF 50mm f/1.8 II
    Lowepro sling 100
    (2) Sandisc 2GB CF cards
    Canon wired remote
    Sunpak tripod
    backup canon 3.2MP P&S camera

I will say.. it was nice to blast 1000 pictures at my friends wedding a few weeks ago. Nothing like 27 continuous shots when you pull the trigger

I just bought the new Kodak easyshare V1253. Its the new HD model thats 12mp. I still own a Fuji that is more advanced but since I never have time, it just sits there........

I shoot with a Rebel XT.

              Started with a Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6
Good lens to get started with, and still a great tele lens.

After that I wanted something better for a carry lens, so I splurged and went with the 24-105 f/4L IS USM. Nothing compares to L quality. Beware of buying L...once you do you will never go back to regular. Amazing quality and IS is sweet. This lens alone was $1000.

And of course the Nifty Fifty for the low light stuff.

FWIW, check out http://photography-on-the.net/forum/ for a great phto forum.

We got a Cannon SD 1000 7.1MP. Great picture quality, quick saves, and very fast picture capture time. Works great as a standard digital camera. Just wish it had a little more optical zoom to it. My favorite part is the video though, it shoots 640x480 AVI videos. That means that unless you're zoomed way in, the video quality on a 32" TV still looks like it was shot with a video camera and not a P&S camera.
