Don't you love it when tasks work out like this...

So needed to do a wheel bearing on the mustang...

Its a SN95 5-lug conversion on a 92 mustang GT.



~8 min to jack up the car, and pull the front brakes(WOOT AIRTOOLS!)

spent 30 secs on dust cover, said **** it and hit it with air hammer(WOOT AIRTOOLS)

popped off 15 seconds...


go tos pull the Spindle nut... don't have the socket. My biggest 1 1/4 in socket. Go online see I need a 1 3/8ths.. not a big deal, I wanted to get a new spindle nut, its a crush nut, recommended to be replaced anyways.



Go to....
advanced autoparts
Autozone
Napa
Pep Boys

non carry the nut
go to Ford, will take 3 days... **** it... I will just reuse the nut.


Also... non of those stores carry the socket, except for autozone, so I get it, but its only in 3/4in drive (really who the **** actually uses 3/4in drive?)

Sears, Lowes, and Home depot didn't have it either, I got a 3/4in --> 1/2 adapter at sears.


So all of that took ~2.5 hours


Get home, pop off the spindle nut, pull the old, slap on the new bearing. Tighten it down, slap on brake caliper, put the wheel on.

honestly... ~5 min.


8 min. to take apart
2.5 hours of pointless driving around(Luckily my girl was home all morning and I can use her car)
5 min to put back together...

what? spend 8 min jacking it up, airhammer it it for 30 secs... spend 2.5 hours trying to get a nut off... then finally get it off then spend 5 min, cleaning up and done?

It is 3/4 drive not a typo... AS IN LARGER THEN 1/2

like if I didn't find the adapter I would have had to buy one of these
