  • New Beater....

To replace the neon.... and to give me a bit of smiles while I continue to morn the loss of the bird... I got one of these:

    http://www.mbusa.com/models/gallery/...delCode=SLK280

    2007 SLK280
    V6
    A7
    228 HP at 6,100 rpm's
    221 TQ from 2,700 - 5,000 rpm
    11.3 to 1 compression

    3:27 gears
    205/55 V16 front and 225/50 V16 rear tires
    0-60 in 6.1 seconds
    3,255 lbs

My E350 in my sig has a 0-60 in 6.5 seconds.... we shall have to run it and see what this SLK can do.

Work ran a summer special on the SLK280..... so I went for it. Don't get me wrong... I would normally have gone for the 350... but the 280 has a decent amount of pep.

    Options:
    Red exterior
    Beige leather interior
    6 disc cd changer
    Heatering package which consists of:
    AIRSCARF
AIRSCARF allows you to keep the roof of your roadster down in cooler temperatures. A soothing stream of heated air to your neck, head, and shoulders helps take the bite out of chilly top-down conditions. With individual 3-stage temperature controls and airflow that automatically adjusts to your driving speed, you'll never want to put your roof up.

    Heated Front Seats
Take the edge off a chilly morning or a long trip. Heated seats are a soothing option, adding welcome comfort.

    Pic's and times to come.
Race car - gone but not forgotten - 1997 firebird V6
    nitrous et & mph: 12.168 & 110.95 mph, n/a 13.746 & 96.38 mph
    2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8: 12.125, 116.45

I thought that looked like an air vent on the seat. That's a pretty nice idea, but I don't know if I would like the speed adjusted airflow. Things like that generally bug me.

      SLK280 > Neon

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
