Cobra XRS 9330. Works really well. I've picked up radar around curves and over slight hills before, and just thought the initial beep was a false alarm, and 10-15 seconds later the beep was still getting stronger, till finally the cops drove on past. This has happened several times. Think 10 seconds of notice at 75mph.... thats enough. They're like 80 bucks at Circuit City.

I got a Whistler 1743...no regrets. It has saved me nemerous times. The best part? It reatils for around $120...I paid 20 bucks for it off ebay. Why? No power cord. Cost me about 6 bucks to get one and now it works like its brand new.

There are deals to be had on ebay...just look.

that info is 3 years old.

just thought about it i have a cobra. i had a whistler before it. i like the cobra better. that sucker has rediculous range, a few times it went off close to 30 seconds before i could actually see the cop coming from the side street. the whistler did a pretty good job also, but it was a few years old and i figured it was time to upgrade to something newer.

i dont know, i live in VA, so you would need a radar detector detector, and i dont believe u will be able to find those for under $100... i forgot you probably dont need that because you dont live in the like one state that does make them illegal.

I bought one off eBay for $19 shipped. Think works good. It's a FuzzBuster :P. It's about 2 yrs old, but still saving me. I think the range is slowly getting worst on it, but for how long I've had it, it's done an excellent job. I also got a free one from a friend. A whistler, the thing needed a powerchord. I figured I'd just splice one together, then I'm told that you can't switch the + and - without frying it, so I fried it :D. Check eBay and you can find some good deals. I just bought my mom one from Radio Shack. It's another Whistler, and it was on sale for $50. Check after Christmas and you might find a good deal.

please go to radardetector.net and get some info on these things before you waste your money...

stay away from cobra, rocky mt. radar...

get a cheaper bel or whistler and you should be good. The cheaper bels and whistlers will get you better performance than a cobra.. especially with instant on radar and pop, as well as laser. All serious threats nowadays.

30 seconds of warning?? woop-de-doo... not to be an *** but if thats the best you've had, you've never had a good detector, or you have never been hit by constant on radar... i've had 2.2 miles with my x50 before from a speed sign using Ka

damn alot of hate on the cobra...

I know its not the top of the line, but it has served me well. I have picked up Ka band like 1-2 miles in advance. I guess its great your guy's can reach like 20 miles, but my 1-2 miles is fine, I live in FL, in 1-2 miles at 4am on the highway, there is still at least a dozen or so cars on the road, so a cop is not singleing me out.

My dad has a V1, its sweet definitely better, but it picks up everything, like grociery store entrance doors, just driving down the street. the arrow thing helps alot but still alot of false alarms, that causes boy who cried wolf syndrome.

I got mine as a gift, and I bet there are better ones but my cobra more then does the job. I have never gotten a ticket with that thing in my car and on. Well and the cop was using radar. (I did get pulled over once, but I was doing like 90 on a road late at night and cop was coming in other direction and saw how fast I was going.

I use it sporadicaly around town, well going to now since speedtraps are everywhere locally, but definitely on highway trips.
