  • 318 Curves in 11 Miles!

Ok, so about two weeks ago a buddy and I went up to Tennesse/North Carolina to Deals Gap aka Tail of a Dragon. This road consists of 318 Curves in 11 miles, and it was a BLAST! Anyone who lives remotely close to this needs to go check it out! I live 240 miles away but it was worth every penny! And now, to the pics!!!

what do you think youre driving, a ****in mazda?
our cars arent meant for these wimpy curvy roads, we are all about the "1320" (is that it? i always get the numbers confused... oops)

        (thanks, pat!)

sounds like fun, nice pics. thinking about modding the suspension now? shocks/springs/sway bars now? i wish there was somehting like that around here. theres a few roads that are a little twisty, but nothing like that!

1320? assuming you meant 1/4 mile.

The pics were taken from a guy who goes up there about every day and makes a living being a photographer at Deals Gap. His website is www.killboy.com For more pictures of me, check out the store. I went on 10/11/2006. There are about 20 pictures of me up there.

Pssssh... i live on a road like that. ... well kinda. Anyway, anyone who lives near hills can verify that hillclimbs > quarter mile anyday of the week (if only they had a dedicated hillclimb around here :dreams: ). Although those are some pretty good pictures, was it a pain to have them staged like that (traffic, albinos, etc.)?

Oh, and you have some sort of road tar smudge on your drivers side door.

Re: 318 Curves in 11 Miles!

Deals Gap is awesome. The Tail of the Dragon has got to be one of the most fun roads I've been on. I woulda said something sooner, but I didn't figure anybody else had actually been there. We go to Pigeon Forge every year for the Spring Rod Run and this past year my buddy came with us in his modded WS6 (Bilstein shocks/struts, BMR LCAs, BMR LCA relocation brackets, BMR Panhard Rod, Eibach Sportline, etc...) We made about 4 trips across the Tail of the Dragon on one Saturday afternoon. There should be some pics of us somewhere on their site, surrounded by Honda S2000s. BEST ROAD EVER. Did you take the foothills parkway to get to Deals Gap or not? Cause I'd bet that was an awesome trip in itself with all the scenary leaves changing color and stuff. Next year, I'm hoping to go back and drive the entire Dragon, not just Deals Gap. We oughta get an FBody meeting set up for that. Plus Rod Run is a blast. Especially the cruising with thousands of other car enthusiasts.
                    Here's us tearin' it up

Let's see if this fixes the pics.

I just saw this advertised on Superbikes last night. I'd love to get a road trip there sometime in the spring and give it a shot!

I've wanted to take a trip down there for a while, but just never got around to it. That road is just plain badass.

I tried that, but when I previewed the post, it changed all the [IMG][/IMG] tags to [ URL ][ /URL ], sorry for the spaces there, but it doesn't show anything there unless I space it out. I dunno, I'll try to edit the post and see if that gets it.

Edit, you can't link images that have been attached in this forum I guess. Thanks GR8Schlotzky. Anywho, here's the rest:

Hey guys, all these pictures except for the very last one were taken from a professional photographer up there. His website is www.killboy.com. I saw him taking pictures and I prayed he would put me up there, and sure enough he got about 20 of me! I went on the 11th of this month, if anyone wants to see the other pictures. It was honestly the best road I have ever been on. I would LOVE to get an Fbody meet up there, best idea yet!
